MULTIPLE COMMUNITY AGENCIES TO BENEFIT FROM $265,000 GRANT AWARD FOR AEDs
Madison, IN – Multiple community agencies and organizations are about to benefit from a purchase of nearly 150 Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) made possible by a generous grant from Bethany Legacy Foundation. These life-saving units will be purchased and available for use by first responders as well as in schools, at parks, and in various agencies throughout Jefferson County. Anyone experiencing a life-threatening health emergency might benefit from the presence of an AED.
This grant will provide a cost savings to organizations in the region who will not need to fund the purchase of these units. Further, because all of the units will be the same, first responders and bystanders will not need to learn a new device each time they use them. When moments can make a difference between life and death, these standardized units can prove life-saving.
Dora Anim, CEO of Bethany Legacy Foundation commented, “This investment is an example of the potential we can achieve by working together. These units increase community safety across all sectors. We can subsequently create opportunities for unified CPR/AED training for employers, employees, and all residents of Jefferson County.”
