BETHANY LEGACY FOUNDATION AWARDS SIGNIFICANT GRANT TO BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF JEFFERSON COUNTY
JEFFERSON COUNTY – Bethany Legacy Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization determined to create environments that promote well-being for everyone in Jefferson County. They care about inventing new solutions that tackle mental and physical health challenges and strive to create a brighter future for the community. Bethany Legacy Foundation has four pillars for which they provide funds to improve life in the county: strong youth, empowered adults, stable seniors, and a robust workforce.
Bethany Legacy Foundation recently awarded a generous grant that supports both youth and the adults who care for them. Over the next two years, Bethany Legacy Foundation will grant The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County $716,000 for two major initiatives: a major facility renovation and capacity building.
David Woolpy, the new executive director who joined the organization in August of 2022 (after serving as executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Rutland County, Vermont) has a big vision: for the Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County to become a quality child care center that serves all children. Through a remodeling plan, he wants to transform the current building into a state-of-the-art facility that provides quality programming for children and provides peace of mind for working parents across the county.
The capacity-building component of the grant includes an organizational restructure which includes adding a fund-raising position. The goal is for The Boys and Girls Club of Jefferson County to become a completely self-sustaining organization over the course of the next two years.
Executive Director David Woolpy says, “We want to become the first place parents think of when looking for care for their children while they work.”
