LIFE CHOICES CLINIC TO BENEFIT FROM $53,000 GRANT FOR MENTAL HEALTH NEW HIRE
Madison, IN – Life Choices Clinic is set to enhance its mental health support services thanks to a $53,000 grant from Bethany Legacy Foundation. The funding will support the establishment of a new staff position dedicated to implementing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) screening and a comprehensive response/referral process for clients over the next three years. Additionally, the grant will fund crucial staff training and client-focused events aimed at promoting healing and resilience.
This initiative marks the first known instance of an organization actively integrating ACEs scores into its client support framework within the region. The focus will be on addressing the root causes of trauma and fostering resilience among clients based on their ACEs assessments.
Dora Anim, President & CEO of Bethany Legacy Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for the project: “We know that many adults in Jefferson County have more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) than the national average and that these experiences can negatively impact the health and well-being of the individual and their family. We are thrilled to support Life Choices as they connect their clients with resources based on their ACEs score, to help them heal from the root causes of their trauma and build resiliency.”
Life Choices Clinic plans to use the funding to integrate ACEs screening into their client services, enabling more tailored and effective interventions. Staff will receive specialized training to better understand and respond to the impacts of ACEs, and client events will be organized to further support community wellness.
Lisa Perry, Executive Director of Life Choices Clinic, emphasized the significance of their partnership with the Bethany Legacy Foundation: “Bethany Legacy Foundation has directly impacted Life Choices Clinic by supporting our foundation and our future. Their grant will not only financially benefit our current needs but their thoughtful help solidifying our foundation by assisting us with capacity development needs will reach far into our future.”
