Bethany Legacy Foundation has awarded a transformational grant to bring the community together and improve the quality of life for all Jefferson County residents.
Crystal Beach – a critical quality-of-life amenity for the entire community – needed to fill a $2 million gap in its funding to build a brand new pool and renovate the pool house. Bethany Legacy Foundation recognized the critical need to close the funding gap, allowing the City of Madison to maintain the current timeline to open the pool in May 2024. This amenity will be a remarkable place for multigenerational interaction where all families can enjoy recreation, relaxation, and stress relief activities together.

Bethany Legacy Foundation’s CEO Dora Anim shares, “Our foundation is determined to fuel environments that promote wellbeing for everyone in Jefferson County. The Crystal Beach project is perfectly aligned with this goal. It’s also very important for us that every family regardless of income level can access and enjoy the pool. Bethany Legacy Foundation and the City of Madison will be partnering with Bill Barnes and his team at the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County to ensure a portion of our grant is directed to supporting access to the pool by low-income families.”

In partnership with the City of Madison, it also fills a much needed gap and keeps the burden from falling on taxpayers.”
Bethany Legacy Foundation is a new non-profit private foundation founded in 2022 that is focused on designing solutions that remove economic and social obstacles to create the healthiest community. This is the third grant awarded by Bethany Legacy Foundation who will ensure their grants are awarded to a diverse portfolio of organizations and causes to achieve their goals. The first two grants were made to the Freedom Center and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana.
