We’re proud to announce $4,459,175 in new grant funding to 20 organizations supporting mental health, housing, transportation, recreation, social services, childcare, professional development, and access for residents of Jefferson County, Indiana. These investments represent partnerships with nonprofits, schools, and public agencies doing the daily work of caring for our neighbors.

Here's where this investment is going and why it matters.

Strengthening Mental Health and Well-Being

Mental health touches every family in our community, and this cycle reflects our deep commitment to strengthening it:

• Jefferson County Health Department — $190,129 over two years for the Empowered Youth: Tobacco, Substance & Risk Prevention Initiative, equipping young people to make healthy choices before risky habits take root.

• THRIVE — $650,000 over three years to support the Peer Expansion Initiative (PEIS), which is growing peer-led recovery support in our region.

• Player's Philanthropy Fund — $30,000 for Moving Upstream, a program helping educators feel confident teaching mental health literacy in the classroom.

• Lifespring Inc — $9,765 to expand access to trauma-informed care through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training for clinicians.

• Armed Services Arts Partnership — $10,000 to build mental well-being for Jefferson County veterans through the arts.

• Norton King's Daughters Health — $7,000 to launch a Peer Support Team for healthcare workers.

• Caroline’s Corner - $350,000 to build a child-centered mental health facility.

Creating Spaces Where Community Happens

Healthy communities need places to gather, play, and grow:

• Friends of the Ohio Theatre, Inc. — $725,000 for accessibility updates that will open Madison's historic theatre to every resident, regardless of ability.

• City of Madison — $500,000 over two years for park investments across the city.

• Madison Consolidated Schools — $500,000 for Jefferson County at Play updates to the playground at Anderson Elementary School.

• Jefferson County 4-H Club Agricultural Association — $500,000 over two years to replace the community building that hosts fairs, gatherings, and traditions passed down through generations.

• Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County — $100,000 in matching funds for a gym renovation that will serve local kids for decades.

• Resurrection Lutheran Church — $50,000 toward a new recreation and athletic complex.

Removing Barriers to Housing, Safety, and Opportunity

Some of the most transformational work happens where the need is greatest:

• Madison Christian Health and Developmental Services — $300,000 for A Modern Path to Freedom Housing Initiative, creating permanent supportive housing for women and individuals re-entering the community.

• River Valley Resources, Inc. — $175,000 over two years for La Casa Amiga Friendship House, a welcoming hub of connection and support.

• Lifetime Resources — $151,750 over three years in matching funds for Catch-A-Ride vehicles and operations, keeping reliable transportation within reach.

• Safe Passage, Inc. — $110,855.99 over two years for domestic and sexual violence intervention and prevention programming.

• Kindness Jefferson County – $10,000 in general operating support as this volunteer community group refines its vision for the future.

Investing in the Next Generation of Leaders

• Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana — $85,475 over three years for the Teacher Leader Program and Camp Whippoorwill support.

• Community — $4,200 for a Volunteer Fire Department Listening & Engagement Initiative, because strong communities start with listening to the people who serve them.
