Mental Health

Matters

Bethany Legacy Foundation’s Mental Health Matters initiative is a community-wide effort to strengthen mental health systems across Jefferson County. Rooted in our Legacy 2030 vision, this initiative brings together schools, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and local leaders to address one of the greatest barriers to long-term community well-being — access to mental health resources.

We believe lasting health begins when every person has hope, connection, and the support they need to thrive — mind, body, and spirit.

Our Focus:

Our Mental Health Matters initiative focuses on three key areas of impact:

Early Intervention & Youth Support

Expanding mental health education and in-school counseling services to ensure students receive care before crises occur.

Early Intervention & Youth Support

Strengthening local provider networks, mobile crisis teams, and referral systems to make care more accessible for those in need.

Early Intervention & Youth Support

Reducing stigma and building cross-sector partnerships that unite residents, nonprofits, and healthcare leaders in shared solutions.

Each focus area is designed to move Jefferson County closer to a healthier, more resilient future — one where every resident feels seen, supported, and empowered.
